It was a treat to return home today after the festivities and find waiting for me the latest issue of Poetry Ireland Review, issue 111 edited by the great John F. Deane. I’ve already enjoyed absorbing some of its contents: some ambitious long poems by Sujata Bhatt and another instalment of ‘Transgressing into Poetry’, the fascinating series of prose reflections by Richard Murphy. It also features ‘Henrietta Street’ a long-ish piece of my own dedicated to the memory of John Kelly, the renowned Irish painter and printmaker who passed away in 2006.
